* The NeutraCast always remains above your bait (trying to float). It is doing 3 things in this position: 1) It is holding itself off the bottom so it doesn't get hung up, 2) it is holding your leader and line off the bottom so they don't get hung up and 3) it is not giving you any false feedback as a sinker would by touching the bottom.
* The NeutraCast rig, gently settles, stopping the instant the bait touches the bottom. It will remain in this position until you decide to move it. Because it is neutral in the water, the slightest movement of your rod tip causes it to gently rise and then gently settle back down. It's like jigging in slow motion with much smaller movements of the rod tip. In this manner you can walk your rig across any of the conditions you will encounter without getting hung up. By performing this motion of the rod tip more often, you can work the rig through any part of the water column from deep to shallow. All of this equates to more time in the target fishing area.
* Live bait fishing is another area where the NeutraCast is used. First, the casting weight lets you put the live bait on your target. Then the neutrality of the rig actually assists the live bait by conserving its strength without retarding its motion. If the bait fish swims down, the weight of the hook makes the NeutraCast follow. If the bait fish swims up, as soon as the smallest amount of weight is relieved from the hook, the NeutraCast rises.
* Because the NeutraCast rig is neutral in the water, the strike is transmitted instantly to the rod tip. There is no delay commonly caused by floats or bobbers. There is no false feedback or masking of the strike by a sinker on the bottom. You feel exactly what's happening instantaneously.
* It is an exceptional teaching tool for instructing people new to the sport. It provides easy casting while keeping them out of trouble and allows them to instantly feel the strike.
